FAQ’s

Why do I need to detox?

Whenever you are reducing weight and breaking down body fat, it’s important to incorporate
some sort of detoxification program. Your body fat stores many toxins inside fat cells, and
when you break those down, toxins naturally enter your bloodstream and can actually make
you feel sick if you don’t take steps to ‘mop them up’.

How fast will I lose the weight?

Your body will let go of its non-essential fat in the way it decides is best and at its own speed.
Women generally shed between 7 and 10 kilos a month. Men can lose between 10 and 14
kilos a month. A few people shed from 3 to 5 kilos during the first week. Whether your own
weight loss is ultra-speedy, slow and steady, or intermittent, this makes no difference to your
success. Abnormal fat deposits diminish. Fat from double chins, potbellies and thick thighs
are sometimes the first to go. Meanwhile the body continues to rejuvenate itself inside and
out.

Won’t I be hungry?

If you have done Step 1 correctly, are taking the nutrients as directed and are following the
program you should not be hungry. You may be hungry in the first week but this will pass.
Remember you are also getting the physiological benefits from the fat that you are releasing.
You may be releasing up to 4000 calories/day!

Why don’t we eat grains?

Many people who are overweight have a sensitivity to gluten that they may not even be aware
of. This can cause all sorts of digestive disturbances; therefore, it is highly recommended that
you do not consume any grains while on the program (this includes wheat, rye, oats or
barley).

Can I use coconut oil to cook with?

Yes, you can use a good quality Extra Virgin Raw Coconut Oil. Coconut Oil is the healthiest
oil we can eat. Use a pure, organic brand to make sure you are getting the best possible oil.
Coconut oil comes directly from the plant source, not an animal source. Coconut oil can be
used every day. You don’t need to count the calories in coconut oil. The oil is used for energy
in our bodies and not stored as fat.  Most fats are made up of fatty acids linked together in
relatively long chains and are stored in our bodies for energy later. (Fat is basically stored
energy in our bodies) So, most oils are fat stored in our bodies. Coconut Oil on the other hand
is a shorter molecule known as a medium chained molecule. It is immediately burned as
energy and does not store as fat in our bodies.  Use 1/2 teaspoon coconut oil to cook protein
(still use sparingly).

Can I mix my veggies?

On step 2, only one kind of vegetable at each meal – no mixing.  You can, however, always
mix different coloured vegetables of the same type. For example, green leaves in a salad; red
cabbage with green cabbage in a salad and green and red capsicum.

I am on medication for high blood pressure. Can I still go on this program?

Anyone on medication or has a health challenge, must contact a HealthCare professional
before starting any of the programs.

I am a 45-year-old male and work a physically challenging job – will there be enough calories be enough to support my needs?

Just as the daily nutrition is the same in all cases, so the same diet proves to be satisfactory for a small elderly lady of leisure or a hard-working muscular giant. An obese body is always able to obtain all the calories it needs from the abnormal fat deposits, regardless of whether it uses up 1500 or 4000 per day. Of course, as you lose fat and build muscle your body will work so much better!

Can I exercise on this program?

Yes, however strenuous exercise is not recommended while on the very low-calorie part of the program. In fact, it could stop your weight loss so stick to low key exercise only. You can do about 20 minutes of walking a day and a few sit-ups or push-ups if you feel they are needed. Exercise burns calories and therefore causes your hunger to increase. The combination of low-calorie intake and exercise could cause your body to go into starvation mode. This can negatively impact your stamina and commitment to the program. So, take it easy.

My 17-year-old daughter wishes to lose 25kgs. Is she too young to use this program?

In general, we say 18 years is the minimum age required for our program. Although with parental supervision, there is the option of someone just younger than 18 doing the program. Always check with your health professional but remember a slim body is healthier than an obese one.

Can you split up your fruits and eat them when you want?

Yes, you can eat them for breakfast or as a snack. Most don’t eat them with their meals so they will have a snack when they feel hungry. It is recommended you eat 2 x ½ fruit a day.

Is it ok to skip a meal or protein at one of my meals?

No, you don’t ever want to skip any of your meals. It’s important to eat all of your calories and especially your protein so that you only lose fat and not muscle.

I have completed one cycle (i.e. 40 days’ low-calorie program and then 2-3 weeks on maintenance) …. And I am thrilled with the results (I lost 20 kilos) …. When can I do another cycle?
